Introduction

Boom's Rent Reporting-as-a-Service is the easiest way to add rent reporting as an offering to your platform. Using Rent-Reporting-as-a-Service, property management software platforms and fintech companies can add rent reporting to their product offerings in days or weeks.

Rent Reporting-as-a-Service includes two software components:

  1. APIs: Boom's industry-first embedded rent reporting solution includes APIs and pre-built UI components for system-of-record companies such as PMS (Property Management System) software platforms and Fintech companies.
  2. SDK: Boom's Software Developer Kit (SDK) is an embeddable and brandable user-facing widget that companies such as proptechs and fintechs can add to their product offering to speed up frontend development.

These two software components can be combined in a number of ways to create various deployment options, depending on your tech stack and desired user expereince.

Deployment options

There are 5 deployment options available for property management software platforms to implement rent reporting with Rent Reporting-as-a-Service:

(1) Standalone API

This option allows PMSs or other source of truth companies to own the renter-facing UX and leverage their own capabilities to verify tenants monthly payments. This option provides set of endpoints allowing partners to:

  • Enroll Customer to Boom Report
  • Unenroll Customer
  • Update Customer information
  • Verify rent payments to report

Best suited for: PMS companies (e.g. Yardi, Rent Manager) or proptech companies who have source of truth data. Not fit for fintech companies.



(2) Standalone SDK

This option runs on bank data and minimizes developent costs while providing a brandable UX for renters. This option provides an iFrame embeddable that solution allows renters to:

  • Enroll themselves for rent reporting
  • Manage their account with access to 24/7 customer support
  • Get their payments verified by Boom
  • See rent reporting dashboard and credit score

Best suited for: Fintechs, proptechs who do not want to integrate with a PMS.



(3) SDK + API

This option is suitable for operators who wants to provide a branded and seamless user experience for the renter. This option provides a set of endpoints allowing partners to:

  • Enroll Customer to BoomReport
  • Unenroll Customer
  • Update Customer information
  • Verify rent payments to report
  • Allow Tenants to view reporting dashboard and credit score
  • Allow Tenants to manage their account with access to 24/7 customer support

Best suited for: Fintechs (for enhanced user experience, to skip screens), proptech companies with propertiary data/systems.



(4) Standalone PMS Integration

This option enables operators (i.e. property managers) to connect their PMS with Boom to create seamless and comprehensive user experiences for both renter and property manager. This deployment option includes Boom's Partner Platform, which is a web dashboard that allows for easy management of the product for property managers. This option allows partners to do the following:

  • Enroll single Customers or an entire portfilio to Boom Report
  • Unenroll Customer and/or update customer data
  • Get payments automatically verified through processing of PMS's ledger
  • Get real time credit impact reports, to measure positive impact of the service on tenants credit scores
  • Allow tenants to see reporting dashboard (via iOS / Android app)

Best suited for: Property managers small and large (who utilize a PMS such as Rent Manager).



(5) SDK + API + PMS

This option combines PMS data with Boom's SDK and API to provide the best operator and tenant experience. This option:

  • Enables the operator to manage the product through Boom's Partner Platform
  • Utilize Boom's SDK as a dashboard for the renter with all available information (optionally includes credit score, depending on your contract with Boom)

Best suited for: PMS companies (e.g. Yardi, Rent Manager).
